Blog Challenge: Day 5
My siblings:
My sister Karen and her husband Justin.
We are 2 years apart, fought as only sisters can when we were younger but have grown inseparable. She gave a beautiful toast at our wedding and planned an amazing baby shower long distance. They are Elle's godparents and that was an easy choice. They spoil her so much already and I know they will be more important as she grows up. besides who else has my childhood memories that involve the songs of Chicago, The Carpenters, Harry Chapin, and the Moody Blues. Who else played hours of Skating Rink and Press Your Luck?

My brother Keith, his wife Lorena, and my adorable nephew Noah. Keith has been my go to for all things baby when Elle was first born(and before). They let us try all their baby stuff, gave us the book that saved us the first weeks(Happiest Baby on the Block), told us what to register for etc. Plus they bought Noah a shirt that says My Auntie Amy Rocks(of course I do!!). And anytime I needed something for my car--even here in Colorado Keith did it.

My brother Mickey(OPIE) and his fiance Rachael. Can't wait til they get married in July! I am close to the baby of my family--I still try to take care of him. I cheered him on in countless hockey games and it seems like I drove him everywhere when he was younger. Who else would have let us send him down the stairs in a laundry basket and convince him that playing dolls was the best way to spend an afternoon!

Love you all! See you in December!

Blog Challenge: Day 4
My parents:
Sue and Steve, the best examples of marriage and parents a girl could ask for. My mom stayed home to raise the 4 of us while my dad worked multiple jobs and long hours to provide for us. My childhood was filled with laughs and family adventures. And as we got older it continued. One of my best vacations was our recent family cruise to Alaska--matching fleece and all. And now I get to see them as grandparents--and its even better. Love you mom and dad!

Blog Challenge: Day 3
Your first love:

I have to admit that my first love is my husband, Kevin. I met him when I was 29 and had never been in love. I had been in like several times, but not love. Love where that person means so much and where you feel complete with them. He has made my life complete and makes coming home so much better. We met on eHarmony and after 2 weeks had the most amazing date at the skating rink and talking til 2 in the morning(and I am not a person who stays up past midnight). And now he is the father of my amazing daughter. How sweet love is!

Blog Challenge: Day 2
Story Behind Your Blog Name:
I chose Life in the Junction for 2 reasons, one we had just moved to a new town (Grand Junction, CO) and I was trying to embrace my new much smaller town(still working on that) and my life was at a "junction"--newly married, new town, new job and I wanted to chronicle that.

Blog Challenge: Day 1
Hi I'm Amy. I am wife to a wonderful man and a mom to a beautiful little baby girl.
15 Facts:
1. I am a middle school teacher, I know its crazy but most days I love my 8th graders and my job.
2. I love school and if I lived in a town with a university I would be considering pursuing my PhD or law degree.
3. I love to read, I have read almost 150 books since the beginning of this year.
4. I just started learning to digital scrapbook and want to learn how to take better pictures.
5. I have weird food issues--the foods I don't like it's all a texture thing.
6. I enjoy being a working mom.
7. I wore my wedding dress to a farm for our Trash The Dress Pictures.
8. I would bake every day if I could.
9. My husband doesn't ever want me to buy him presents--only cards--so I am trying to find a creative way around this for Christmas.
10. I sing the songs from The Sound of Music to my baby almost every night.
11. I play fantasy football(last year I picked based on looks and uniform colors, needless to say I didn't win, but I am doing slightly better this year).
12. My high school goal was to run for President.
13. I still have math anxiety.
14. I couldn't wait to move away from my family when I graduated from college but now wish that I could be closer.
15. I can repeat almost every line of Steel Magnolias.
